What is “twill-weave” in carbon fiber sheets?

The “twill weave” means the warp and weft fibers intersect in a 2×2 (or similar) pattern, producing the classic diagonal or herringbone look rather than a simple checkerboard.

Because of that diagonal structure, twill-weave sheets are often more conformable (i.e., better around curves) and visually preferred for cosmetic applications.

They still retain good mechanical performance: One fabric spec sheet for a 3K twill shows tensile strength~4,000 MPa, modulus ~230 GPa for the fibre alone.
